Immunity-Boosting Tonic: One Recipe, Three Simple Ways to Enjoy It

Supporting your immune system doesn’t have to be complicated. A few powerful, whole ingredients can go a long way in nourishing your body and helping it stay resilient. This tonic is one of my favorite ways to bring immune-supporting foods into my routine because it’s versatile, easy to make, and can be used in multiple ways.
Whether you prefer something refreshing, warm and soothing, or blended into a smoothie, this single recipe gives you options.

Immunity-Boosting Tonic Base
You’ll need:
½ pineapple
1 orange
1 lemon
1 knob of fresh ginger
1 knob of fresh turmeric
Instructions:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Add all ingredients to the pot.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cover.
Let the tonic simmer on low heat for at least 1 hour.
Once finished, you’ll have a concentrated, nutrient-rich base you can use in different ways.
Option 1: Drink as Cold Infused Water
A refreshing way to hydrate while supporting your immune system.
Turn off the heat and allow the tonic to cool completely.
Strain out all the pulp.
Pour the liquid into a pitcher.
Refrigerate and enjoy throughout the day.
You can add fresh lemon slices or mint for extra flavor.
Option 2: Drink as Hot Tea or a Hot Toddy
A soothing option that feels grounding and comforting.
Brew your favorite green or jasmine tea.
In a mug, add:
Fresh ginger
Honey
Lemon
(Optional) A splash of whiskey or bourbon
Use the tonic as the water for your tea.
Let steep for at least 5 minutes before sipping.
Option 3: Blend It Into a Smoothie
A nourishing, energizing way to enjoy the benefits of the tonic.
Ingredients:
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
Frozen mango
A handful of pulp from the tonic
A handful of kale
Natural sweetener (like dates, if needed)
Instructions:
After straining the tonic, reserve some of the fruit pulp.
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Enjoy immediately.
