Supporting your immune system doesn’t have to be complicated. A few powerful, whole ingredients can go a long way in nourishing your body and helping it stay resilient. This tonic is one of my favorite ways to bring immune-supporting foods into my routine because it’s versatile, easy to make, and can be used in multiple ways.

Whether you prefer something refreshing, warm and soothing, or blended into a smoothie, this single recipe gives you options.

Immunity-Boosting Tonic Base

You’ll need:

  • ½ pineapple

  • 1 orange

  • 1 lemon

  • 1 knob of fresh ginger

  • 1 knob of fresh turmeric

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

  2. Add all ingredients to the pot.

  3. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover.

  4. Let the tonic simmer on low heat for at least 1 hour.

Once finished, you’ll have a concentrated, nutrient-rich base you can use in different ways.

Option 1: Drink as Cold Infused Water

A refreshing way to hydrate while supporting your immune system.

  1. Turn off the heat and allow the tonic to cool completely.

  2. Strain out all the pulp.

  3. Pour the liquid into a pitcher.

  4. Refrigerate and enjoy throughout the day.

You can add fresh lemon slices or mint for extra flavor.

Option 2: Drink as Hot Tea or a Hot Toddy

A soothing option that feels grounding and comforting.

  1. Brew your favorite green or jasmine tea.

  2. In a mug, add:

    • Fresh ginger

    • Honey

    • Lemon

    • (Optional) A splash of whiskey or bourbon

  3. Use the tonic as the water for your tea.

  4. Let steep for at least 5 minutes before sipping.

Option 3: Blend It Into a Smoothie

A nourishing, energizing way to enjoy the benefits of the tonic.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 frozen banana

  • Frozen mango

  • A handful of pulp from the tonic

  • A handful of kale

  • Natural sweetener (like dates, if needed)

Instructions:

  1. After straining the tonic, reserve some of the fruit pulp.

  2. Add all ingredients to a blender.

  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  4. Enjoy immediately.

Make It a Wellness Ritual

This tonic is more than a recipe—it’s a way to build small, consistent habits that support your body. Whether you sip it cold, steep it warm, or blend it into a smoothie, you’re giving your system the nutrients it needs to stay strong, nourished, and supported.
